Pregnancy at Month 7

It is important to remember that this time will have rapid growth for your baby and many changes for you that may cause constant discomfort. Additionally, it is important to accept your current body shape and size to help you relieve anxiety as you prepare to give birth.

Common Pregnancy Symptoms at Seven Months

By this time, your uterus has dramatically expanded to make room for your growing baby. For this reason, other organs in your body will get squashed making you have several uncomfortable symptoms. These are such as:

  • Frequent urination since the growing uterus is squeezing your bladder
  • Shortness of breath due to the squashed lungs
  • Frequent abdominal cramps since you’re the womb is squinting the stomach, and your muscles are stretching.

Most signs that you may experience in the seventh month of pregnancy are similar to those that you had in your sixth month of pregnancy. Others include: 

  • Mood changes
  • Stretch marks
  • Hot flashes
  • Insomnia
  • Feet and leg cramps

It is also possible to feel unsteady on your feet as you walk and, therefore, essential to take your time while walking. Since your belly is now fully expanded, you might lose the ability to bend over. Your breasts will also become bigger and heavier, nipples darken, and the veins on your breast become visible.

Changes for Your Baby at Seven Months

When you are seven months pregnant, your baby is about the size of a large eggplant. The bones are beginning to harden by this time. However, hardening of the bones excludes the skull as it remains softer to make it easier for birth through the birth canal.

Week by Week Development

Week 28

Baby is about the size of a large eggplant. He weighs about 1.24kg and is about 14.75 inches long. She can now blink her eyes and can see the light that filters in through your womb. 

Week 29

Baby’s head is expanding to make room for the growing brains. She is currently the size of a butternut squash weighing about 1.30kg and is about 15 inches long. 

Week 30

The baby’s skin cells are making the pigments that give skin color. They are currently about the size of a large cabbage. She weighs about 1.36 kg and is about 15.75 inches long. 

Week 31

Your baby is about the size of a coconut. She can turn his head from side to side and his arms, legs and body are beginning to plump up. She now weighs about 1.4kg and is 16.75 inches long. 

Week 32

The baby’s fingernails and toenails are fully developed. They weigh about 1.7kg and is 16.75 inches long. She also has real hair and the skin is becoming soft and smooth in preparation for birth. 

Movement at Seven Months

Unlike the previous months, movements of the baby at seven months are now more frequent, and you will also realize them stretching. You can also connect with your baby through sound or touch.

Positioning at Seven Months

At this time, the baby’s head faces the cervical region, and they lie vertically. This is the safest position for you to have a normal and safe birth.

It is also possible to tell when your baby is asleep or awake in the womb. Your baby can also dream when they are asleep, cry, or open their eyes.
